Our objection is as simple as one word – Fairness

The Montana Labor – Management Alliance (MLMA), is a private, non – profit, fair contracting organization that works toward assuring that Public Works construction projects are awarded properly and that all the local and federal laws are adhered to regarding payment of the prevailed wage.

In 1991, a group of Montana contractors and Montana labor leaders met to discuss a growing concern that many contractors were able to consistently underbid their competition on public works projects by violating prevailing wage laws.

Through these discussions, it became evident that not enough was being done to identify the prevailing wage violators and enforce compliance.

Our goal is the establishment of a level playing field whereby all the players adhere to the same rules. Those rules being the state and federal laws governing the payment of wages to employees working on construction projects funded by public monies.
